Please tell us briefly about your interest in transformative learning
My proposed research is designed to explore transformative learning (environments) in schools. Based on tools that aim to foster systems thinking, individual and social/group learning trajectories will be mapped/documented and analyzed using transformative learning and dialogic learning theories with a focus on the emergence of labilization phases and metaphors in dialogic spaces. It is expected, that the emergence of both is linked to successful individual and social transformative learning and is more plausible if the learners have sufficient scope for development / trial & error (HandlungsSpielRäume). The proposed research will provide a much-needed window on the connection between sufficient temporal and spatial scope for development and the formation of critical competencies for ESD (i.e. creative, future-oriented systems thinking)
